As the Human Resources Manager at EAG, Nicki Cook’s focus is on overseeing the recruiting, interviewing, and hiring of new staff, consulting with leadership on strategic planning, and serving as the link between EAG’s management and employees. She handles staff issues, develops policies, manages employee benefits, and ensures legal compliance.
Nicki Cook has 7+ years of experience in the oil industry, and 15+ years of experience in Human Resources overall. Throughout her career, Nicki has established the HR function for an oil and gas start up organization, selected and implemented new payroll systems, trained employees on new HR processes and procedures, and handled all employee benefits and payroll. She has also implemented a company’s first ever learning management system, ensuring all employees receive proper training and remain in compliance.
Nicki is currently pursuing her Bachelor’s of Business Administration degree with a concentration in Human Resources from the University of Houston – Victoria.
Prior to joining the EAG team, Nicki worked at Ensign Natural Resources as an HR Generalist. During her time at Ensign, she was responsible for the standup of all HR systems and created processes and procedures to enhance employee experience and ensure compliance. At Ensign, she made the HR presence personable by creating an environment of comfortability so that employees can benefit from a culture that fosters trust and respect.
Nicki enjoys spending time with her husband and cheering on their 11-year-old son, who plays on a competitive soccer club team. She and her husband enjoy attending sporting events, concerts, and travelling the world!
